1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Type Faster ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Type Faster is an online typing tutor that helps users improve their typing speed and accuracy through interactive tests and lessons. The Service includes:

• 1-minute and longer typing speed tests
• Typing lessons and drills
• Progress tracking and statistics
• Personal best and streak tracking
• Story Library — public-domain and original editorial story passages for timed practice
• Game Lore Library — original plot-summary passages referencing third-party game franchises by name
• Employer hiring assessments (secure candidate test links for organizations)

Core typing practice for individual users is free. Employer hiring features may require purchase as described in the Payments section below. Candidates invited to take an assessment never pay to complete the test.

If you use employer hiring features, you agree to send assessment links only to candidates you are permitted to evaluate, to comply with applicable hiring and privacy laws, and to inform candidates that their test results will be collected and shared with your organization through Type Faster (see our Privacy Policy).

3. User Accounts

3.1 Anonymous Usage

You may use the Service without creating an account. Anonymous usage data is stored locally and may be linked to a permanent account if you choose to sign up.

3.2 Account Creation

When creating an account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• Be responsible for all activities under your account

3.3 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in fraudulent activity.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Use automated tools or bots to inflate scores
• Attempt to circumvent anti-cheat measures
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Upload malicious content or code
• Reverse engineer or copy the Service
• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Share employer assessment links publicly, scrape candidate results, or misrepresent who will receive test outcomes
• Imply that Type Faster is affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any game publisher, studio, or trademark owner

5. Anti-Cheat Policy

Type Faster uses server-validated sessions for saved scores on tests, leaderboards, and verified shares. We may reject or remove results that appear manipulated, automated, or inconsistent with fair play.

• Impossible or inconsistent scores are automatically rejected
• Paste, automation, and session tampering violate fair-play rules
• Suspicious patterns may result in score invalidation or account review
• For signed-in speed tests, we do not store full keystroke replay by default. When our automated checks identify a run that needs review, we may retain a limited typing replay for up to 30 days for internal trust review only
• Repeated violations may result in account suspension

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Type Faster content

The Type Faster name, logo, software, user interface, lesson structure, Type Faster Brief Forms (TFBF), and other materials we author are owned by Type Faster or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from those materials without our express written permission.

6.2 Third-party names and Game Lore Library

The Game Lore Library uses game titles, franchise names, and character or place names only to identify which fictional story is being summarized for typing practice. Those names are trademarks of their respective owners. Type Faster is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any game publisher, studio, platform holder, or other rights holder.

Type Faster provides the Game Lore Library solely to help users improve typing speed and accuracy. We do not sell, license, stream, or distribute video games or official game materials through this feature.

We use third-party game titles, franchise names, and character or place names only as descriptive, nominative references so users know which fictional story is being summarized. That use is not intended to suggest sponsorship, partnership, endorsement, or authorization by any rights holder, and we take care not to present Type Faster as an official product of any game company.

Game Lore passages are original editorial works created by Type Faster. They are transformative summaries for educational typing practice—not substitutes for purchasing or experiencing the underlying games, and not meant to compete with official game content, manuals, or licensed merchandise. We do not use official logos, box art, character renders, sound files, ripped in-game dialogue, or other proprietary game assets; blog and cover art uses abstract, non-identifiable imagery only.

If you are a rights holder and believe any Game Lore content misstates your rights or should be corrected or removed, contact us through our contact form. We review good-faith requests promptly and may update or remove content at our discretion.

Game Lore is typing practice only: original plot summaries we write—not official game text, walkthroughs, or tutorials. Game names identify which story is summarized (nominative reference only). Type Faster is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any publisher or rights holder. Rights-holder requests: contact form.

6.3 Story Library (public domain)

Story Library is typing practice only: editorial retellings or excerpts from public-domain sources where applicable—not republished commercial editions. Type Faster does not claim ownership of the underlying classic works.

Type Faster provides the Story Library solely to help users improve typing speed and accuracy using classic literature—not to compete with publishers of modern editions or to distribute pirated or scanned books.

Where we rely on public-domain sources, we publish our own editorial retellings or short excerpts formatted for timed typing drills. We do not reproduce the layout, illustrations, footnotes, or other expressive choices of current commercial editions unless we have a separate lawful basis to do so.

Public-domain status depends on jurisdiction, translation, and edition. Type Faster makes no warranty that every passage is free of third-party rights in every country. If you believe Story Library content infringes your rights, contact us through our contact form.

Game Lore and Story Library are separate practice tracks with different sourcing rules. Story Library content is provided for typing skill development, not as a literary publishing service.

6.4 Third-party names and Movie Plots Library

The Movie Plots Library uses film titles, franchise names, and character or place names only to identify which fictional story is being summarized for typing practice. Those names are trademarks of their respective owners. Type Faster is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any film studio, distributor, or other rights holder.

Type Faster provides the Movie Plots Library solely to help users improve typing speed and accuracy. We do not sell, license, stream, or distribute films or official film materials through this feature.

If you are a rights holder and believe any Movie Plots content misstates your rights or should be corrected or removed, contact us through our contact form. We review good-faith requests promptly and may update or remove content at our discretion.

Movie Plots is typing practice only: original plot summaries we write—not film scripts, subtitles, or studio marketing text. 7. User Content

If you create custom lessons or content, you retain ownership but grant us a license to display and distribute that content through the Service.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

9. Limitation of Liability

Type Faster shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the Service.

10. Payments

10.1 Consumer typing (free)

Speed tests, drills, lessons, progress tracking, and standard account features for individual typists are provided free of charge. No subscription or credit card is required for this core experience.

10.2 Employer hiring assessments

Organizations may use the employer hiring dashboard to generate secure links for candidates to complete a timed typing test (Free trial links use a 1-minute test; paid plans (Hiring Vault or one-time packs) let you choose 1, 5, or 10 minutes per invite link.). Each employer account includes five (5) complimentary invite links. Additional invite links are sold as one-time Starter and Growth packs or through monthly Hiring Vault subscriptions (Vault Keeper, Growth, and Scale) at prices shown at checkout. Hiring Vault is a recurring subscription (Vault Keeper, Growth, or Scale) billed monthly through Stripe, with optional per-link top-ups. One-time Starter and Growth packs remain available. If you cancel: monthly and rollover links pause until you resubscribe (unused subscription links may forfeit after six months). Top-ups and one-time packs you already bought are yours forever — they never expire and you can still send invites while paused. Payment is processed by Stripe; credits apply to your account after successful payment. Purchased credits are not refundable once invite links have been generated or used, except where required by law or explicitly stated at checkout. Starter — 20 links for $79 · Growth — 50 links for $149 (one-time). Vault Keeper — 5 links/mo from $19/mo · Growth — 40 links/mo from $99/mo · Scale — 100 links/mo from $199/mo.

Paid plans also include: Preview the candidate test before you send a link; Choose 1-, 5-, or 10-minute test length on invite links; Custom typing passage on invite links (US keyboard / ASCII only); Email when a candidate completes a test; Trust signals on every completed result; Watch typing replay on completed results; CSV export for your hiring pipeline; Your company name on the candidate test page; Sort, search, and filter your link table.

Candidates who receive an assessment link do not pay to take the test and are not required to create a Type Faster account unless they choose to use other parts of the Service. Each link may be submitted once; results are visible to the employer who created the link. Paid employer plans may include a keystroke-level typing replay of completed candidate runs for hiring review.

10.3 Future premium features

Optional premium features for individual users may be offered later. Any such offers will be clearly disclosed before purchase, separate from employer hiring packs.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes shall be resolved in the appropriate courts.
